Practical Use for Free-Motion Embroidery

My friend tore her coat and with so much of the winter already over it made more sense for her to try and get it fixed than trying to buy a new one this late in the season. 

I am guessing it is no secret how much I love to do Free-Motion Embroidery, so I was really pleased when she asked for my help to fix her conundrum.
