DIY Iron On Fabric

DIY Iron-On Fabric

This is one of the best hacks that I have made in ages. It is so simple and so effective, and has so many uses.

It is best to watch the video and see how its done, but in case you prefer the written word, here goes:

Lay out your fabric, freshly ironed and nice and straight. Then cut strips of iron-on hemming tape (available from most sewing shops, and even in a lot of grocery stores), and lay these strips out onto your fabric – make sure that you do not have any of the tape going over the edge of the fabric. Then lay a piece of grease-proof paper over the strips and iron with a really hot iron. Leave the paper to cool for a few seconds, then you can peel the paper away, cut out the shapes you like and then iron these onto your fabric.

This is an excellent way to patch up holes in clothing and a wonderful and quick way to add embellishments to clothing.
